David Millhouse (Chief Executive Officer) is the founder of MillhouseIAG and of Corporation Builders. David holds degrees in science, business and law, complemented by a sound performance in new company generation in the science and technology sector. David is experienced in capitalisation planning for emerging growth companies and the raising of capital in the public and private equity markets in Australia and other countries, including Singapore, Canada and the united States. His performance has brought international recognition of his achievements and a series of Australian awards, including the 1986 Bulletin - Compaq Young Executive of the Year and the 1988 BRW – Compaq Young Executive of the Year. David has also spent time as a visiting lecturer at the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix, USA. David was the founding Chief Executive of UniQuest Ltd, the technology commercialisation vehicle of the University of Queensland. UniQuest was the first Australian University company to conduct venture capital backed spin-offs from Universities. He is one of the founding practitioners of venture capital in Australia and is the only Australian member of the Asia Pacific Venture Capital and Private Equity Association based in Singapore and Hong Kong. He is also an experienced Company Director and a Trustee of the Bond University Foundation.
Fred Kempson (Chairman) has been the Australian representative of the Bank of New York – Inter Maritime Bank Geneva since 1998. He is a director of companies including Phanron Investments Pty Ltd, Australian Retirement Managers Ltd, Southland Advisory Services Ltd and a senior consultant for Elders Securities Ltd. Fred has experience in the banking sector through his Chairmanships of the Security Pacific Bank NZ Ltd and the Australian Merchant Bankers Association.
Lorenzo Macolino (Finance Director) is Finance Director of MillhouseIAG. He was formerly the CEO of IFS Group Holdings Limited, which is an international logistics organisation based in Sydney. Lorenzo has experience in areas such as international logistics; organisational assessment and restructuring; corporate governance procedures; creation of economies of scale and tax structuring; and capital raising.
James Paulsen (Executive Director) is Executive Director of MillhouseIAG and a director of Corporation Builders. He has extensive academic and business experience within the private capital markets of Australia and Singapore, and has conducted studies at the Queensland University of Technology, Bond University and the American Graduate School of Management, Arizona, USA. His business experience includes positions within Mercantile Mutual ING Bank and Marsh and McLennan, providing extensive project management and information technology experience. James was employed by MillhouseIAG in 1995 to develop the Corporation Builders program from its original base in Brisbane. He was instrumental in MillhouseIAG’s development into each state capital market of Australia, Singapore and New Zealand. He is the founder of enterpriseangels.
Nicholas (Nick) Basile (Non-Executive Director) is a Non-Executive Director of MillhouseIAG. Nick is the Chief Executive of Ascalon Capital Managers. Nick joined the Board of Directors in 2007 when Ascalon made a significant investment into MillhouseIAG as part of a boutique fund manager development mandate. Nick has over 20 years of financial services and investment management experience including: General Manager Investments and Insurance, St.George Bank, in which he was responsible for St.George Margin Lending, Advance Asset Management, St. George Investment Solutions, St. George’s General and Life Insurance businesses and St George Private Bank; Head of Commonwealth Investment Management; Executive Director, Investments for Legal & General Australia; and Investment Manager and Director for Lend Lease Investment Management.
Nick is a Director of MacarthurCook Limited (ASX listed), Alleron Investment Management Limited, Fortuna Funds Management Limited, H3 Global Advisers Pty Ltd, Continuum Capital Management Limited, Above The Index Asset management Pty Limited, Sigrun Asset Management Pty Limited and the Ascalon group of companies. Nick completed his Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University. He is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries (Australia), Senior Associate of Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
Australia
Rana Ghosh is the Chief Financial Officer of MillhouseIAG and has had extensive experience in financial and general managment. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Australia and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India as well as a Bachelor of Commerce. Rana has worked in South East Asia, South Africa, Germany and Australia over twenty years. He brings with him the best practices from a wide field of expertise in financial analysis, investment planning and management accounting. He assists the Finance Director and other General Managers in day to day financial activities, valuation of fund investments and cash flow modeling for the group internationally.
David Orazio is General Manager of MillhouseIAG Australia. David has a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Banking and Finance, with a specialisation in Funds Management. David works alongside the Chief Executive in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking Activities and Strategic Management. David is also responsible for the business development and continued growth of the funds management activities of MillhouseIAG on a national and international scale. In addition to maintaining and building relationships with the wholesale investment community, David also undertakes the capitalisation planning activities for the MillhouseIAG Group of Companies. David has also completed studies administered by the institute of Banking & Finance for Funds Management activities in Singapore and holds a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from Kaplan Education (formerly Financial Services Institute of Australasia - FINSIA).
Stephen Beirne is General Manager of Queensland Leaders, and a Manager of MillhouseIAG’s Private Client Group. Queensland Leaders develops the next generation of international businesses headquartered in Queensland. Each year, Queensland Leaders selects 15 leading private sector businesses, and puts them through an intensive 12 month education, mentoring & networking process with 30 of Queensland’s top publicly listed enterprises and professional services organisations. The MillhouseIAG Private Client Group uses the international resources of MillhouseIAG and subsidiaries to source a variety of investment options for its sophisticated investors, from short-term, fixed interest options through to long-term, multi-generational wealth strategies. In addition to his Queensland Leaders and Private Client Group roles, Stephen is also involved with the wider MillhouseIAG Group’s public relations activities, including management of sponsorships and a number of events.
Marcos Volich is Operations Manager for the MillhouseIAG group of companies. Marcos provides support to the General Manager and Chief Executive on investment banking and private equity funds management activities of MillhouseIAG. The scope of Marcos’ work allows him to impact all business units as company liaison through the facilitation of Investment Banking, Funds Management and Corporate Finance matters. Marcos has completed a Bachelor of Business Management majoring in International Business and is currently in the final stages of completing a Masters of International Economics and Finance at the University of Queensland.
Bob Honeywill has worked with David Millhouse in various corporate capacities since 1987. He was admitted to the Australian Society of CPAs in 1963 and has been a fellow of the society for the past 25 years. From 1988 to 1991, he was General Manager – Commercial Administration and Company Secretary for UniQuest Ltd, the commercial consulting company of the University of Queensland. From 1991 to 1996, he worked for a range of MillhouseIAG Group's clients in a consultancy capacity. Since 1996, he has been the MillhouseIAG Group's senior corporate analyst. From 1972 to 1987, Bob was involved in various capacities with Utah International. He was also a participant in the merger of Utah International with General Electric Corporation (GE). of the US (then the largest merger in US corporate history) and again in 1984 when BHP acquired the worldwide Utah International mining and oil interests from GE. Following the BHP acquisition, Bob was appointed Controller for BHP Utah Coal International Limited, a position he held until 1987.
Neill Colledge is the Institutional Relationship Manager for MillhouseIAG. He has thirty years experience in the securities industry, both as fund manager and stock broker. He joined QIC in 1990 as its seventh employee, becoming head of research for Australian equities in 1992. In this role he introduced a rigorous stock selection process as well as quantitative portfolio management methods. In addition to managing a successful A-REIT fund, he was portfolio manager of QIC's $10 Billion core Australian equities fund which outperformed its benchmark over eight years. In 2004 the board of QIC's biotechnology venture capital arm QBF asked him to serve as CEO, which he did until 2007.
Between 1992 and 1999 he was a member of AIMA Corporate Governance Committee which wrote Australia's first corporate governance standards. For twelve years he lectured for the SIA on equity analysis and portfolio management. He has served as a director of several public and private companies. Neill holds honours degrees in Latin and Economics from the University of Canterbury.
David Grey is an executive director of MillhouseIAG Capital Managers Limited and Head of Legal to the MillhouseIAG Group. Mr Grey has over 24 years finance experience, with over 12 years in accounting and management roles including AWA Limited and Texas Instruments. Mr Grey spent the last 14 years practicing as a solicitor primarily in financial services and corporate law. Mr Grey is admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia. He has worked in private practice and for various organisations in financial services working both in superannuation and managed investments, including National Benefits Consulting, AM Corporation Limited, AMP Superannuation Limited, Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited and Australian Wealth Management Limited (which includes Bridges Financial Services Pty Limited (“AWM”)). Mr Grey has been involved in various commercial transactions and transition in various legislative changes and companies in the managed investment and superannuation regime. He was formerly General Counsel and Company Secretary for a number of AWM subsidiaries and undertook the key role of AWM’s listing on the Australian Securities Exchange Limited (“ASX”) in 2005, now a top 200 ASX company. Mr Grey has sat on compliance, investment and due diligence committees and been involved in various external industry committees and dealings with the ASIC, Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (“APRA”), ASX and IFSA.
Mark Phillips has a strong background in Funds Management and Investment Banking through his (22) years in the industry and is highly regarded in his field. He has a proven track record in senior management as Group Manager of Asset Management and General Manager of Structured Finance and Lending during his years with one of Australia’s top ASX listed companies. He has also held various senior management positions with National Australia Financial Management the funds management arm of the National Australia Bank. He was involved in and headed several M&A engagements and Capital Market transactions, both in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Mark is a member of the Institute of Australian Company Directors, Mortgage Industry Association of Australia, the Securities Institute of Australia and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Mr Phillips oversees the investment and asset management activities of the Australian operation. He is a director of MillhouseIAG Capital Managers Limited which as a funds manager, offers a range of investment opportunities for retail and professional investors.
Tom Wallace was formerly a partner in a Sydney commercial law firm and acted for several of Australia’s major financial institutions and telecommunication companies. He is a Member of the Institute of Company Directors, a Member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Queensland) and is a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Queensland and the High Court of Australia. He has experience in managing financial services and funds management companies, due diligence processes and corporate acquisitions and divestments in the listed and unlisted company sector. He has also been involved in corporate capital raising activities, including originating, structuring, executing and sourcing for equity, equity instruments and debt instruments in Australia and overseas. He is a director of MillhouseIAG Capital Managers Limited which as a funds manager, offers a range of investment opportunities for retail and professional investors.
Germany
Juergen Allesch is Managing Director of Millhouse AG (Berlin). He is also a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Life Sciences GmbH. Previously, Herr Allesch was the managing director of BIG (Berlin Innovation and Start-up Centre), the first German Innovation Centre for start-up companies at the Technical University of Berlin, and the managing director of Technologie-Vermittlungs-Agentur Berlin e.V (TVA).
Sven Jozefowski is MillhouseIAG's representitive in Frankfurt. He has accumulated more than 15 years experience as the CEO/Managing Director of medium-sized companies and global concerns in the feild of production, trade and services. He holds a graduate masters degree in mechanical engineering and business administration from the Technical University of Darmstadt and a Master of Science from the London Business School, London University.
Dr Friedrich Werk is a member of the Superadvisory Board of Millhouse AG (Berlin). He is a practicing in a Berlin law firm and is experienced in corporate fianance and merger and acquisition transactions. He also supervises various financial institutions on their compliance obligations
Anna Von Wagner is the office manager for Millhouse AG (Berlin). Anna is responsible for the ongoing, administration, financial and reporting obligations for Deutsche Life Sciences GmbH and its portfolio companies.
Charmaine Chia-Sander is the Office Manager for Millhouse AG. She holds a Bsc in Business Administration and has work experience in Singapore, Shanghai and Berlin. Charmain is responsible for the administration as well as part of the financial and reporting obligations of Millhouse AG, Deutsche Life Sciences GmbH along with its' portfolio companies.
Singapore
Eu Lee Koon is employed on a part-time basis with MillhouseIAG in Singapore. Lee Koon started his career in the VC/PE industry with AIA-Walden, a joint venture between US-based Walden International Investment Group and the American Investment Group.
Philippe Paillart acts as a consultant to MillhouseIAG in Singapore and utilises his networks that he established as a CEO of the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS). He has previously co-invested privately with the EDB in Singapore.
Sharmila Gunasingham acts as a legal consultant to MillhouseIAG in Singapore. Ms Gunasingham is currently a partner of Harry Elias Partnership in Singapore. Sharmila has been involved in corporate law and international practice for over 23 years and has been President of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore. Sharmila provides MillhouseIAG with advice on the establishment of its proposed private equity investment vehicles in Singapore as well as links with prominent financial planning networks in Singapore.
